We needed a young dog to be friends with our very active rescued puppy. Our 10 yr old Ausie doesn't like "puppy" antics. I think we were all a little apprehensive. The dogs seemed to do fine. The staff was all friendly, comfortable and accommodating. When we arrived home, our Ausie made friends immediately with the new dog and the 3 of them did good together. It's only been a couple of hours, but they are all worn out and it seems like a good fit. Thank you for being so particular in your screening. Makes me more comfortable bringing a new pet into the house.

The process was very smooth and orderly. They responded quickly and kept in touch throughout the application process. Appointments were available the next day. The meet and greet with the dogs was extremely pleasant and the staff answered any questions to the best of there ability. I was able to find my perfect dog. Very friendly staff and a really enjoyable experience. Will recommend Hill Country SPCA to my friends.

The adoption of my new best Friend, Rainey" went as smooth as clock work. The folks at the shelter were very business like...(in a fun and friendly way)!! I was especially impressed by the facility! I picked up our new family member Rainy yesterday. The process was so easy and she is the sweetest little girl in the world. She already has amazing manners and is only 10 weeks old. I don't know who was working with her but she is an angel!!

I went in for my orientation for volunteering at the SPCA. Gave me an even bigger appreciation for the job that the wonderful staff do. We are fostering & my husband was scared I would come home with more fosters & I thought about it. But after bathing a kitty & starting a load of laundry after my orientation I was ready for a nap there is plenty of work to do around there & they are are not at capacity with pets. If you can volunteer or foster please help in any way you can. I’m going back & thinking about bringing a few more kitties home with me

A wonderful experience, it couldn't have been easier. Ranger and Sis are now a month old, we stopped by for worming medicine,a quick weight check and pics. This all took less than 15 minutes and I waited in the car, big bonus... we left with a large box of wet kitten food as we will be doing weaning and litter training this week. It's all happened so fast and been so fun, who wouldn't want to foster fur babies with a support team this great?

The staff members at Hill Country SPCA are absolutely top-notch! These folks run a super smooth, efficient and clean operation! We came in with hopes of adopting a cat after reviewing the profiles online. Only 2 people are allowed to visit due to Covid-19 restrictions. My 10 yo son and I scheduled an appt, and were escorted to the cat wing. There were 4 areas that included a nice cat-io outdoor space connected to the interior area. After visiting with all kitties (and taking extra time to love on the seniors), we decided James Bond is our dude! We completed the application through a link sent to my phone, the staff gave a thorough explanation of his heath records, answered all our questions and we were on our way home! I was so impressed by the cleanliness of the facility, you can tell the staff truly care! Every single cat we visited was super clean, friendly and appeared to be in great health, which can be tough in a shelter environment. Part of their commitment is to even take back the animal at any time for the rest of their lives if there ever became an issue. Super commendable! Thank you, Hill Country SPCA!! We are loving our new addition!

Everything about the experience was good with the exception of not being able to actually see my potential choice in person before adopting. I feel that we should have been able to come and visit (WITH A MASK) after we picked the pet we thought we wanted to make sure we were going to meld. Thankfully we weren't disappointed but it might have been different.

The girls are always very helpful when we have an online meet and greet. The covid scare really makes in hard to find a pet you can make sure you want to adopt but they are as helpful as they can be since it has to be done .virtually.

Amazing while my pup had apparently her first “fear stage” melt down. It caught me off guard and staff (I believe Jordan- who has worked multiple times with my pup) was so calm- collective - and ready to take control. She also gave me some more suggestions to curb this outburst from happening again. I immediately put those suggestions into place and Emmylou (Nora) had a great rest of the day meeting people and being around crowded (not like it use to be) downtown watching cars and people, and a few people she got to actually socialize with and get puppy treats from. Emmylou was also good at the vet down the street.

We had an excellent adoption experience. Due to COVID we had to pre-adopt without meeting the puppy, but they talked us through his personality, and we were able to do a virtual meeting with him. The pre-adoption phone call answered all our questions, and the pickup was quick and seamless.

I’m a first time dog foster. Everyone from start to finish has been wonderful. They were very upfront with me regarding the process and what they did and didn’t know about the dog. Jordan helped me today pick up the doggo and Kaitlyn was very responsive to emails. I had some behavior information about the foster dog pop up When I got home and they immediately updated the dog’s profile. There are at least 4 shelters closer to my house but none of them have been half as helpful or responsive. Worth the 1.5 hour drive to work with these folks!

Although we had to drive an hour and a half each way to keep our appointments for Jethro (aka Thor), the service and timeliness of each appointment was excellent! I would strongly recommend adopting from Hill Country SPCA.

Even with COVID, the adoption process was very easy. I was kept well informed of his medications. I was signed up for his microchip and for an app called Maddie's Pet Assistant. I had a phone call chat the day before I picked him up to ask any questions I might have. The day of pickup, I simply parked my car, put my mask on and they brought him out to me.

The adoption went perfectly!! We are so happy to have our newest addition!!

I booked an online vaccine for our Foster Mommie yesterday. Drove over this afternoon, opened my door and turned the dog around. In and out in less than 5 minutes, of course we had no other issues or need to see the staff. It was great!

Awe! We love our new boy Flynn. We were not looking for a puppy but the puppy was looking for us, I guess. The good folks at Hill Country SPCA were outstanding; the in-person meet and greet was easy and smooth, and adoption process and pick up easy. Wonderful experience. Our puppy wasn't available until about 1 month after we got approved. They sent us photo updates from the Foster parents and kept us informed of how he was doing. Very caring and professional staff.

We were very impressed by our experience at the Meet and Greet at Hill Country SPCA. Caitlin greeted us promptly and took us back to a lovely little outdoor courtyard where we waited to meet the little dog we were interested in. She brought him out and left us alone to get acquainted. After awhile she checked on us to see if we had questions, provided some treats to help get the dog to pay attention to us. Then she filled us in a little more on his background and temperament. We filled out and signed a couple forms, they found a leash and harness that fit him(since we didn’t know we could bring him home the same day and weren’t prepared) and we took our new little furry family member home! It was a great experience!

We LOVE this little guy Freddie! We must commend his foster mom because he is so comfortable and content. He enjoys human touch all over- - and is already a lap-sitter! After settling in a little with his food and water bowls, litter box, and a little fun time with a dangly toy, he went right to sleep on my lap! WOW! What fun we are going to have with this darling sweet baby! Thank you, All!

The dropoff was easy, the volunteers helpful and friendly. Over the few days we had Godiva, she started responding to being called 'Diva', pronounced DEE-va. I hope she finds a forever home. I do not think she is a beagle mix, however. I did some research and she looks like she has a lot of Brazillian Terrier in her. We picked up our fur baby (Bryton) yesterday. We couldn't be happier with the selection and experience adoption process we had at Hill Country SPCA. Best darn shelter in the entire country. Some may see the shelter's vetting process as cumbersome, but I see it as necessary, and thoroughly well done. The facility is clean and well-maintained. And the staff is highly capable. Kaitlyn, Jordan, and Kierstin are experts at what they do. They do God's work for these forsaken animals. This team deserves our admiration and respect.
